Born and raised in Richmond, VA, studied and practiced in North Carolina, currently residing and working in the metro-Atlanta area, Wayne Viar is a well-versed drummer and percussionist who keeps busy in town and on the road performing regularly with local, national and international acts. His various projects require a wide range of versatility including jazz, funk, rock, pop, world drumming, rudimental drumming, orchestral percussion, ethnic percussion, electronic music, programming, and more. Regardless of the situation, the goal is, "always provide the right musical elements that are supportive, appropriate, tasteful, passionate, and serve the song or situation first and foremost". These qualities are what make him one of Atlanta’s "go to guys" for a wide variety of musical situations.
